My examples with Animal idioms

I've learnt some idioms related to animals recently and wrote example sentences with them. Enjoy :)

 

The lion's share: 

Amanda cooked huge meal for her dogs, her Siberian Husky dog ate the lion's share and left a small amount for the Golden Retriever. 

As free as a bird:

Amanda felt as free as a bird after ending her tumultuous relationship with her partner.

A little bird told me:

A little bird told me you're getting married next year, congratulations!

The straw that broke the camel's back:

Jack sent numerous reminders to the client, but the client kept refusing to pay. When his boss axed him, it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

A dark horse:

He turned out to be a professional doctor. His mum always knew he was a dark horse.

To be as blind as a bat: 

Jack fell head over heels for Amanda, and now he's as blind as a bat. He can't accept any criticism about her.

To be a one-trick pony:

Jack is such a one-trick pony, he can only boil eggs. 

To chicken out: 

Jacob chickened out when Amanda fell from the waterfall and broke her legs.
